Signature Solar

Signature Solar is a growing solar company. I am the primary developer designing, building, and maintaining the production systems that support sales, inventory, warehouse, multi-origin shipping and fulfillment, and customer support.

I started as the IT & Software specialist — both the in-house IT person and the person writing software to automate processes. After a few months someone else took over the IT role, and I focused on a system that would give technical support, RMA, and repair teams visibility, control, and searchability. Internally that system is the Internal Ticket System (ITS). I created it and still lead development, while covering other departmental software needs.

What I built and run

  • ITS replaced Asana for customer support and grew into a full RMA and support platform used company-wide. It is still in active use.
  • ITS is integrated with NetSuite so RMAs and replacements can be fulfilled in NetSuite while tickets stay external. Ticket data is mirrored into HubSpot, and HubSpot also talks back to ITS.
  • Extensive NetSuite customizations in SuiteScript 2.1: RESTlets, SuiteQL-driven queries, custom Suitelet dashboards, SuiteApprovals, inventory and kit calculations, freight formulas, and other operational enhancements.
  • Workato integrations between NetSuite, Salesforce, and BigCommerce so order data, product information, and customer records flow into NetSuite as the fulfillment platform.
  • Salesforce work in Apex, Lightning Web Components, screen flows, and External Services.
  • TypeScript/Node.js services and custom shipping engines with multi-origin fulfillment and real-time carrier rate shopping (ShipStation, MyCarrier, Stripe among the surrounding APIs).
